Speaking at a press conference following the conclusion of the summit, Trump said he did not believe the conflict with Iran would erupt again, adding that “whatever happens will end very quickly.”

Commenting on Iran’s leadership, Trump said, “They had leaders, and they’re gone… Now they have another group of leaders. They may be gone too.”

He added that Iran’s leaders had become “more rational,” while noting that he was “not sure” whether he wanted to reach a deal with them.

“You can’t allow crazy people to have nuclear weapons,” Trump said, adding that the United States “will make things much safer for oil.”

Trump also reiterated his claim that he is a target of Iran, saying, “I’m number one on Iran’s assassination list.” He added, “You know what? I may be gone too, because I’m at the top of their target list.”

On another matter, Trump said that the new U.S. presidential aircraft would travel from Qatar to two military bases in Europe.
