The Embassy of Mexico in
Jordan celebrated on Thursday the 214th Anniversary of Mexico’s
Independence at the Bristol Hotel in Amman.
The event was attended
by members of the Jordanian government, the diplomatic corps accredited in the
country, local and international business leaders, as well as members of the
Mexican community residing in Jordan.
During the occasion,
attendees enjoyed a representative display of Mexican culture, including
traditional music and cuisine evoking Mexico’s rich cultural heritage.
The highlight of the
event was the traditional “Cry of Dolores” that commemorates the call to begin
the war for independence in 1810.
The event also marked
the 49th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between
Jordan and Mexico.
In recent years,
relations between both countries have seen significant progress, especially
after the signing of important agreements in the sectors of education, customs
and aviation.
These agreements have
strengthened ties between both nations, facilitating academic exchanges between
higher education institutions, improving customs processes and promoting air
connectivity between Mexico and Jordan.
