An official military source at the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army stated that the Eastern Military Zone thwarted an attempt at dawn today, Saturday, to smuggle narcotics using remotely controlled balloons along its border front and within its area of responsibility.اضافة اعلان

The source added, “Border Guard forces in the Eastern Military Zone, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, detected a group of balloons within the area of responsibility. They were intercepted and their payload was brought down inside Jordanian territory.” Upon inspection of the area, it was found that the balloons were equipped with remote navigation devices and loaded with narcotics. The confiscated items were handed over to the competent authorities.

The source emphasized that the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army continuously work on enhancing their security systems along the border fronts to counter all forms and methods of infiltration and smuggling, affirming that Border Guard personnel stand ready to confront anyone who attempts to harm the security of the nation and its citizens.
