Tax revenue sees 25% rise

AMMAN — Tax revenue in the first four months of 2021 increased by 25 percent, compared to the same period of last year, Director of the Income and Sales Tax Department (ISTD) Hussam Abu Ali announced on Tuesday.اضافة اعلان

He noted that tax revenue in the first third of this year rose to JD1.855 billion, compared to JD1.482 billion in the first third of 2020.

Sales tax revenue saw a 28-percent growth between January and April of this year, compared to the same period of 2020, leaping from JD986 million to JD1.243 billion — marking a JD275 million difference, Abu Ali added.

Income tax revenue grew by 19 percent, from JD514 million in the first third of last year to JD612 million this year, the director said.
