AMMAN —
Minister of Education, Higher Education and
Scientific Research Mohammad Abu Qdeis on Saturday announced that school and
university students will return to in-class learning in the next academic year.

In remarks to Al-Mamlaka, the minister said: The next
academic year will begin on September 12, while the ministry’s educational
compensation program will commence on August 15 for all students.
“We have faced numerous challenges regarding a loss in
educational value and the psychosocial impact it has had on students.
Therefore, we must go back to in-class learning and to do so have held a
campaign to vaccinate all school and university staff,” Abu Qdeis added.
The minister noted that preparations for the upcoming year
are underway, adding that schools are being furnished and renovated, books are
being distributed to schools and “we shall see a return to schools with the
beginning of next year.”
