Spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Omar Al-Muharmeh, stated that ministry teams have dealt with 52 reports as of Saturday morning related to the weather system affecting the Kingdom since Friday morning. Al-Muharmeh told Petra that weather-related reports were concentrated in several directorates, notably Irbid, Jerash, Balqa, Amman, Karak, Tafila, and Madaba, covering incidents such as soil and rock slides, water and mud accumulation, and fallen obstacles on roads. He confirmed that all issues were addressed promptly and within the ministry’s responsibilities.

Some sites and roads experienced temporary precautionary closures, especially in Karak Governorate, until roads were secured and debris cleared. No issues were reported in the directorates of Ramtha, Mafraq, Ajloun, Zarqa, Ma’an, and Aqaba.

He added that ministry teams continued round-the-clock field inspections to monitor road and drainage conditions. Direct visual communications were also held with directors and staff in several locations, attended by the Minister of Public Works and Housing, the Secretary-General, and other relevant directors, to review the status of areas affected by the current and previous weather events.
