The Public Security Directorate (PSD) has urged citizens to take necessary precautionary measures as the Kingdom is affected by a severely cold Siberian air mass starting Wednesday morning.

The directorate emphasized the importance of following a set of safety tips and guidelines to avoid risks associated with the prevailing weather conditions.
It stressed the need to stay away from valley edges, flash flood-prone areas, and low-lying regions, particularly in southern areas, including the Southern Jordan Valley and Aqaba.
The PSD also advised against approaching water accumulation sites and warned citizens not to attempt crossing flooded roads, whether on foot or by vehicle, when water levels are high.
The directorate noted the possibility of limited snow flurries during the morning hours, at times mixed with rain, which requires extra caution while driving in areas experiencing rainfall. It underscored the importance of driving carefully under such conditions.
Regarding heating, the PSD urged the safe and proper use of all types of heating appliances, advising against refueling heaters while they are operating and warning against leaving them on during sleep. It also highlighted the necessity of ensuring adequate home ventilation from time to time to renew air circulation and reduce the buildup of harmful gases.
The directorate further pointed to reduced horizontal visibility due to fog, in addition to the possibility of frost formation, particularly during late-night hours and early mornings over high mountainous areas and parts of the Badia.
The Public Security Directorate called on citizens to follow weather bulletins issued by relevant authorities and to contact the unified emergency number 911 in case of any emergency.
