The Directorate emphasized the importance of driving carefully, avoiding high speeds, and not attempting to pass through waterlogged roads due to the risks of slipping or vehicle malfunction. It stressed adherence to the instructions of Public Security personnel and following official road updates issued by relevant authorities.
Its field teams are working around the clock to respond to various reports and emergencies, while citizens are advised to stay away from valleys and low-lying areas and to take all necessary precautions to ensure public safety.
The Directorate also issued a set of safe-driving tips during rainfall, including:
Driving cautiously and paying attention to traffic signs.
Reducing speed to allow better decision-making in adverse weather conditions.
Holding the steering wheel firmly with both hands to maintain control of the vehicle.
It highlighted the importance of ensuring clear visibility by checking windshield wipers and using the heating system to remove fog inside the car. Drivers are also advised to avoid driving through water accumulation due to unknown depths and to make turns carefully, as the front or rear of the vehicle may slip on wet roads.
The Directorate stressed the need to call the unified emergency number (911) to report accidents or request assistance when needed, emphasizing that citizen safety is a top priority and requires everyone’s cooperation and adherence to instructions.
