Prime Minister Jafar Hassan stated on Wednesday that Jordan is moving forward with the United Arab Emirates in implementing joint projects and investments. He noted that these efforts translate the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II and UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to enhance development and bilateral cooperation.اضافة اعلان

Writing on platform (X) following the signing of agreements to commence the Aqaba Port Railway Project and establish a joint Jordanian-Emirati company, Hassan said:

"An important strategic partnership has been established to implement the Aqaba Port Railway Project, which will bolster Aqaba's role as a regional and logistical hub in the area, within the framework of broader economic cooperation between our two countries."

The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to UAE Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for his continuous support of the project and for strengthening strategic and economic ties. He reaffirmed the commitment to progress in construction and development for the mutual benefit of both nations and their peoples.

Project Highlights:
The Partnership: An equal partnership between Jordan (represented by JPMC, APC, GIMC, and SSIF) and the UAE (represented by "L'Imad Holding", the sovereign investment platform of Abu Dhabi).

Investment Value: Estimated at $2.3 billion, making it the largest railway transport project in the Kingdom.

Scope: Includes major infrastructure works such as railway tracks, tunnels, and bridges built to international standards.

Strategic Objective: To enhance the competitiveness of the Port of Aqaba as a regional gateway for transport and logistics, while opening extensive development opportunities in Jordan's southern governorates and the Jordan Valley.
