The Ministry of Public Works and Housing has completed the maintenance and expansion project for a section of the Umm ar-Rasas road—which connects to the Desert Highway in the Capital Governorate—ahead of the contract’s official deadline.

Scope of Work
The construction work, spanning a distance of 1.1 km, included:
Scraping and removing deteriorated asphalt layers and replacing them with new ones.
Installing road studs (reflectors), pavement markings, and necessary directional and warning signage.
Enhancing overall traffic safety standards for the route.
Project Management & Funding
Execution began at the end of March this year, showcasing efficient timeline management. The project was funded by the Capital Governorate Council (Decentralization) budget and supervised by the South Amman Public Works Office, under the Capital Public Works Directorate.
Strategic Objectives
This project is part of the Ministry’s periodic plans to rehabilitate and ensure the sustainability of infrastructure. These efforts aim to provide safe transportation for citizens and improve the efficiency of the Kingdom's vital road network in accordance with international public safety standards.
