In statements made this Sunday, Al-Momani clarified that any decisions regarding changes to work or study patterns would be officially announced by the government through authorized channels. He emphasized the importance of sourcing information from official outlets, noting that the government is monitoring developments closely and that any measures taken will be based on a rigorous assessment of circumstances to serve the public interest.
The Minister stated that the current stage requires a high degree of media and social responsibility, pointing out that "a small minority seeks to gain views and likes at the expense of truth, accuracy, and professionalism." He stressed that the norm in such conditions should be collective cooperation for the common good.
Commodity Stocks and Market Stability
Al-Momani explained that the Kingdom’s strategic reserves of basic commodities are within normal levels and that market supply operations are ongoing. He noted that the government has activated land crossings to ensure the continuous flow of goods.
He added that maintaining natural consumption patterns by citizens is a vital factor in market stability and price control, stressing that there is no need for panic buying as quantities are available and supplies are steady.
Transparency and Price Control
The Minister highlighted that the government is handling developments with full transparency, which remains the cornerstone of its crisis management. He stated that the state has long-term plans to deal with various potential scenarios.
Regarding price hikes or attempts at monopolization, Al-Momani warned that exploiting current conditions to manipulate prices is considered an economic crime, and the law will be strictly applied to violators. Regulatory bodies are monitoring stocks and prices on the ground, and the government has decided to support the Civil and Military Consumer Corporations to stabilize market prices.
The Prime Minister is briefed daily on reports from official bodies regarding economic and logistical conditions, with round-the-clock coordination between government institutions to ensure stability across all sectors.
Diplomatic Efforts
In the same context, Al-Momani pointed out that the end of the current war remains unclear. He affirmed that Jordanian diplomacy continues its efforts to push for de-escalation, dialogue, and a commitment to the diplomatic path.
