The two ministers agreed on the importance of activating the cooperation agreement signed between the two sides in 2015, reflecting their shared desire to develop collaboration across various labor sectors.
During the meeting in his office at the Ministry, Al-Bakkar emphasized the deep fraternal relations between Jordan and Palestine, noting that the government, headed by Dr. Jafar Hassan, follows the directives of His Majesty the King aimed at supporting the Palestinian brothers and helping them preserve their land.
He added that the Ministry is fully prepared to cooperate with the Palestinian Ministry of Labor to exchange expertise in labor market inspection, occupational safety and health, women’s empowerment, and the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the workforce.
The minister also stressed the need to pursue granting Palestine full membership in the International Labour Organization (ILO), rather than remaining only as a non-member observer, as adopted in the latest International Labour Conference in Geneva.
For her part, Minister Al-Atari praised the efforts of the Jordanian Minister of Labor and his remarks at the 2025 International Labour Conference regarding the importance of granting Palestine membership in the ILO and voting for its observer status.
She underscored the need to strengthen cooperation with Jordan and benefit from Jordanian expertise in labor inspection, occupational safety and health, vocational and technical training, the national employment platform, and public-private partnership initiatives, with the aim of creating job opportunities for Palestinian youth, especially amid high unemployment rates and current labor market challenges in Palestine.
Al-Atari also appreciated Jordan’s continuous support, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, for Palestine and its people, which enhances their resilience in facing challenges.
