AMMAN —
Minister of Culture Haifa Al-Najjar said Jordan is an exemplary model of
diversity, quality, pluralism, governance, and absolute integrity.

Najjar reaffirmed
that the ministry will cooperate with all sectors to ensure gender equality
among academics, according to the Jordan news agency, Petra.
She spoke at the
conclusion of the conference of the Female Academic Role Model Empowerment,
Equality and Sustainability at Universities in the Mediterranean Region:
towards 2030 Agenda (FREE) project on Tuesday.
Najjar underscored
women’s status in Jordan, calling them a “key component of development” and
lauding exemplary academic women in high leadership roles.
The FREE project,
co-funded by the Erasmus+ Program of the EU, aims to enhance women’s academic
role in Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria.
It seeks to involve
them in decision-making roles in higher education institutions in a more
effective way, as well as promoting gender equality policy and preparing inspiring
and enabled women leaders.
