AMMAN — The Lower House on Monday approved the draft law amending the Labor Law for the year 2023, which imposes a fine of up to JD5,000 on anyone proven to have committed sexual harassment at work, Amman Net reported.اضافة اعلان

The Parliamentary Legal Committee had amended Article 29 of the law, including with “sexual assault” the phrase “sexual harassment” in Clause 6.

The law now reads: “If the minister finds that an employer or representative thereof has committed an assault against the workers, including beating or practicing any form of sexual assault or sexual harassment, the employer or the director of the establishment shall be punished with a fine of no less than two thousand dinars and no more than five thousand dinars.”
