Jordanian ‘Tala’vision’ wins best Arab film at Cairo festival

AMMAN — Jordanian film “Tala’vision” by Murad Abu Eisheh won "Best Arab Film", at the Cairo International Short Film Festival, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. اضافة اعلان

The festival concluded in Cairo on Thursday.

The film follows Tala, played by Aesha Balasem, who is trapped in her home in Daesh-controlled Syria. Her favorite hobby to escape the danger is watching TV, and after Daesh bans television, this escape becomes a secret.

A combined Jordanian and German effort, the winning film was written and directed by Abu Eisheh. It starred a group of Jordanian and Arab stars, including Ziad Bakri, Khalid Al-Tarifi, and Balasem

“Tala’vision” was the first Jordanian and Arab film to win the Best Narrative Film at the 48th Students Academy Awards in the Foreign Narrative Film section.

The film also win "Best Short Film" at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia.
