Jordan records 598 new COVID-19 cases today

AMMAN — The number of COVID-19 deaths recorded today reached 12, according to the Ministry of Health, while a total of 598 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Wednesday, bringing the death toll to 9,561 and the caseload to 741,699.اضافة اعلان

Breaking down Wednesday’s tally, the ministry said:

298 in Amman
94 in Zarqa
63 in Irbid
30 in Karak
24 in Mafraq
20 in Balqa
19 in Maan
16 in Aqaba
12 in Jerash
7 in Ajloun
6 in Madaba
4 in Tafileh

The ministry added in a statement that some 66 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 58 others were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 8,501, according to the ministry’s statement.

Around 2.92 percent of the 20,459 COVID-19 tests that were conducted today came back positive.
