The delegation told the conference that there is a plan to prepare a feasibility study for the rehabilitation of the Hijaz Railway on the Amman-Zarqa portion, and toward Queen Alia International Airport, as part of the Jordanian transport sector strategy for the years 2022-2027.

EUMedRail reviewed the achievements and results of the technical assistance provided in 2022 to the participating countries.

The EUMedRail project was operational between 2017 and 2022; it was funded by the Directorate General for Neighborhood and Enlargement of the EU Commission, with a budget of 2 million euros, for the purpose of transferring technical assistance to the Euro-Mediterranean countries.
