The meeting discussed Jordan’s participation in projects stemming from the “Rome Actions” initiative, co-led by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Arab Emirates, and Italy. The initiative aims to promote climate action and sustainable energy while supporting stability and development across the Mediterranean, the Middle East, and Africa.
Suleiman emphasized Jordan’s commitment to active participation in the initiative, noting that this cooperation builds on the “Climate and Refugees” initiative launched by His Majesty King Abdullah II during COP27.
Both sides also reaffirmed the ongoing cooperation between Jordan and UNDP in environmental protection and climate change adaptation.
