The National Guidance and Media Committee approved a 2025 amendment to the Official Gazette Law, emphasizing that electronic publication of the Gazette’s contents should be organized and supervised, especially after the position of Gazette Director was eliminated. The amendment aims to keep pace with technological developments and accelerate government procedures through electronic publication. The government explained that the last Gazette law dates back to 1949, necessitating an update aligned with digital advancements.

Minister of State for Legal Affairs Fayez Al-Qudah noted that electronic publication will be managed by a specialized employee, with plans to create a dedicated website for the Official Gazette. Access will be free and is currently available via the Prime Ministry website.

Meanwhile, the Legal Committee approved an amendment to the Sharia Execution Law for 2025. The changes aim to simplify enforcement procedures, ensure that rights reach beneficiaries more efficiently, provide offenders with opportunities to work and meet obligations, reduce reliance on imprisonment, and modernize execution methods.

In parallel, the Financial Committee continues reviewing the 2026 general budget for the Ministries of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research, their affiliated agencies, and the Arabic Language Complex. It also discusses the budgets of the Ministries of Youth, Tourism and Antiquities, their agencies, and the Office of the Grand Mufti and the Judiciary Department.

A joint committee of the Legal and Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Committees is reviewing amendments to the Electronic Transactions Law.

Additionally, the Youth, Sports, and Culture Committee met with the Jordanian Olympic Committee to discuss the current state of sports federations, and with Minister of Youth Raed Al-Adwan to review the national youth strategy and avenues for collaboration.
