During the meeting, Haina said that the Palestinian issue is a “key and pivotal” issue for the Arab nation and a priority for King Abdullah. Haina also emphasized the need to step up efforts to support the Middle East peace process and end the stalemate in negotiations.

Committee members praised China’s position in support of Palestinians and the Hashemite custodianship over Jerusalem’s Muslim and Christian holy sites.

For his part, the Chinese envoy lauded Jordan’s solid stance on bringing peace to the region and its defense of the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of its people.

He added that China is keen to develop “the deep rooted relations” between the two countries, especially in the economic field, through increasing Chinese investments in Jordan, namely in the energy, telecom, transportation, agriculture, green economy, digital economy, and smart manufacturing fields.
