Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmed Hneiti, received on Monday at the General Command headquarters the United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of UN Women, Dr. Sima Bahous, along with her accompanying delegation.

The meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between the Jordanian Armed Forces and the United Nations, particularly in programs launched by UN Women related to the integration and empowerment of women in various fields of military service. This comes in continuation of the General Command’s plans aimed at strengthening the role of women and creating a supportive environment for female personnel in the military.
Major General Hneiti affirmed that the Jordanian Armed Forces will continue to conclude various agreements and hold conferences with UN agencies to develop strategic partnerships and joint military efforts. He emphasized support for female soldiers to reach leadership positions, decision-making roles, and ensure equal opportunities.
For her part, the Executive Director of UN Women expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Jordanian Armed Forces in supporting activities related to this field, stressing the importance of maintaining close cooperation to achieve shared goals.
The meeting was attended by a number of senior officers of the Jordanian Armed Forces.
