Higher education wants student grants, loans hiked

AMMAN — The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research called for increasing the allocations for the University Student Support Fund in the state’s general budget 2023, Jo24 reported. اضافة اعلان

The ministry’s secretary general, Mamoun Al-Debie said the matter was discussed with the General Budget Department, and the Ministry of Finance to raise the size of the allocations, which now stand at JD35 million annually in grants and loans to some 33,000 students, which has grown to 89,000 students this year.

“Therefore, the previous amount is insufficient, and must be increased,” he explained.
