RIYADH
– During a meeting in Riyadh on Thursday, Deputy Prime
Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ayman Safadi, engaged in discussions with James Cleverly, the
UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs.

The
primary focus of the talks revolved around the ongoing conflict in Gaza and the
joint efforts required to promptly cease the hostilities while ensuring the
utmost protection for civilians, the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.
During
the meeting, Safadi emphasized the critical need for an immediate ceasefire,
condemning the severe humanitarian crisis and extensive destruction inflicted
by the conflict in Gaza. He stressed the paramount importance of safeguarding
civilian lives and adhering to international and humanitarian law principles.
Furthermore,
Safadi underscored the necessity of ensuring the swift and substantial delivery
of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian population in Gaza. He also called for a
firm commitment from Israel to uphold international law.
