The Ministry of Water and Irrigation, the Water Authority of Jordan, Miyahuna Water Company and the company operating the Disi Water Project announced that water pumping from the wells and sources supplying the Disi Water Conveyance Project has been suspended due to weather conditions and the unstable weather that affected southern and eastern parts of the Kingdom on Friday and Saturday.

In a statement, the ministry said the prevailing weather conditions caused technical faults that led to the suspension of pumping and the shutdown of sources within the Disi system. This will directly affect and delay the scheduled water distribution rotations in several areas of Amman on Saturday and Sunday.
The relevant engineering and technical teams are currently working in the field around the clock to carry out maintenance and repair the faults, with the aim of restarting the wells and resuming pumping at normal capacity as soon as the necessary work is completed. Water supplies will then be restored to affected areas according to the established distribution schedules.
The ministry, the Water Authority and Miyahuna called on residents in the affected areas of Amman to understand the emergency circumstances and cooperate until maintenance work is completed and water pumping resumes according to the approved distribution schedules once conditions return to normal.
