Danish official highlights Jordan's role in helping refugees

AMMAN — The Danish minister for Development Cooperation, Flemming Møller Mortensen, stressed the importance of Jordan's humanitarian role in receiving and accommodating refugees and providing them with services in various fields.اضافة اعلان

During a visit to the Za'atari camp on Thursday, he stressed Denmark's keenness to continue supporting the Jordanian government and the UNHCR and contribute to raising the standard of living for refugees.

The minister, accompanied by the UNHCR representative to Jordan, Dominic Bartsch, was briefed on future projects, visions, and how to support refugees in the Mafraq governorate and Za'atari camp.

The visit included the Princess Basma Center in Umm Al-Jimal, a review of the projects provided by the center to help refugees and the local community, a review of community centers inside the camp, and a tour inside the commercial market.

Bartsch stressed the importance of the international community's solidarity with Jordan and the UNHCR's support to continue providing services to refugees.

The External Relations officer at the UNHCR, Mohamed Al-Taher, pointed to the importance of the support provided by Denmark, noting that the minister's visit to the camp was productive and successful.
