On Friday, Bilbeisi stressed the importance of taking the two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. He added that barely any cases were found among individuals who received the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Hospital admissions for COVID-19 declined by 1.5 percent, Bilbeisi stated, pointing out that the positivity rate peaked around 28 percent during the fifth week of the current wave.

He added that most of the population around the world will likely be infected with the Omicron variant and that with herd immunity, there is a possibility that new COVID-19 variants will not emerge.
