Biddings for national railway network to be offered this year

AMMAN — Minister of Transport Wajih Azaizeh said Sunday that the Ministry had completed work on the technical study of the national railway network project.اضافة اعلان

He told Ammoun News that biddings for the project and the appointment of the contract consultant is scheduled to begin during this year.

He noted that implementation of the project will be initiated if the procedures, including the selection of the investor within the legal procedures.

Azaizeh said that the national railway network will contribute to reducing the cost of road transport, giving Jordan a competitive advantage in trade with neighboring countries.

He added that the project will reflect positively on manufacturers and suppliers in the Kingdom while creating new job opportunities, in addition to reducing the negative effects of land transport, such as road accidents and carbon emissions.
