Under Royal Patronage… Private Applied Science University Concludes National Programming Competition
Private Applied Science University – The 2025 National Programming Competition concluded at the Private Applied Science University, held under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, represented by Dr. Haitham Abdullah Abu Khadija, Chairman of the University Board of Trustees. The event was organized by the Faculty of Information Technology in collaboration with the Jordanian Programmers Association.
The competition took place over two days, September 26–27. The first day featured a trial competition, while the second day hosted the main contest, which lasted five consecutive hours on campus. A total of 101 teams from various public and private Jordanian universities participated, with each team comprising three students and an academic supervisor.
The competition aimed to test students’ abilities in problem analysis, algorithm design, and programming solution development under strict time constraints, thereby enhancing their analytical and competitive skills. The contest spans three levels—local, Arab, and international—opening opportunities for winners to work in leading IT companies.
Professor Dr. Samihah Jarrah, President of the Private Applied Science University, stated that the university is proud to host this national event, which empowers creative youth. She emphasized: “We believe in investing in young talent and motivating them to innovate, as this greatly enhances the regional and global standing of Jordanian programmers and highlights Jordan as a hub for distinguished IT talent.”
Dr. Mohammad Hajjawi, Assistant President for Information Technology, noted that the competition serves as a true platform for sharpening students’ skills and improving their prospects in the local, regional, and international labor markets. He expressed his hope that Jordanian teams achieve top ranks in the upcoming Arab competition scheduled for December in Egypt.
With the successful conclusion of this event, the Private Applied Science University reaffirms its academic leadership and its commitment to supporting innovation, fostering creativity, and building a bright future for Jordanian youth in programming and technology.
