AMMAN — The first-division national basketball team on Saturday defeated the Palestinian team, 88-77 (first half 42-33), in a match at Prince Hamzah Hall in Al Hussein Youth City in Amman, as part of the qualifiers for the 2021 Asian Cup finals in Indonesia.اضافة اعلان

The national squad, dubbed “Jordan Falcons”, is looking for victory in their game with the Kazakhstani team at 7pm at the same hall.

The result of the match will largely determine the identity of the leading team in Group F. In case of victory, the Falcons will qualify for the Asian Cup. In their previous match, the national team defeated the Kazakhstani team in the Jekby Geek hall in Kazakhstan’s capital Nur-Sultan 71-68.

In the game against the Palestinian neighbors, the national team came in third place in the standings of its group with 6 points, and Sri Lanka fell to the last place with 5 points, while the Palestinian team maintained the second place for the time being with 7 points, behind leading Kazakhstan, with 9 points.

Meanwhile, the Saudi team boosted its hopes of qualification after achieving an exciting victory over its Syrian counterpart in a heated match that required an extra time, to end with 79-77.

On the other hand, the Iranian team beat its Qatari counterpart 84-46 in the fifth group of the qualifiers.
