The renewed
partnership was announced as a part of a press conference held Saturday at the
PhysioOne headquarters. The press conference was held in the presence of the
JBF President Mohamed Alayyan and Secretary-General Nabeel Abu Ata, and from
PysioOne Center’s side Director Islam Kaddah and Hussam Fakhoury.
Alayyan welcomed
the renewed partnership with the PhysioOne saying: “We appreciate the keenness
of the PhysioOne Center to build medical forms for basketball players, which
helps our national team technical staff to hold updated knowledge regarding the
health status of all players, with the aim of avoiding and preventing any
risks.”
He added: “The
health of our players is a top priority for us. It is our players’ rights to
have professional management of the team, one that helps us follow up on them
and determine their physical and
mental health and wellbeing before engaging in
the training camps.”
Abu Ata, stated
that the partnership between PhysioOne and the JBF is to compile a scientific
platform that aims to clarify the procedures to be implemented before and
during the assembly of professional players.
“The health status of players from different age
groups will be evaluated, to help determine everything they need,” he said
stressing the presence of therapists during the national teams’ trainings.
For his turn,
Kaddah said that the project called “Protocol for evaluating basketball players
before the start of the season” is a vital step that must be taken before
resuming official competitions.
“This project
allows us to assess injury risks that threaten players during the season, alongside
determining the physical advantages of each player, and reducing the incidence
of fatal accidents due to
cardiovascular disorders,” he said.
The examination is
a fundamental pillar of the planning of sports seasons, and highlights the
needs of individual players in terms of strength, flexibility, agility, he
said.
PhysioOne’s special
protocol, which is based on scientific foundations, will take into account what
the player needs to ensure success. Tests will be held before, during, and
after the season.
