According to the national team’s manager, Osama Talal, the Jordan Football Association (JFA) has received an official letter from the UAE and Vietnam approving the upcoming friendlies in Dubai.

In a statement on the JFA’s official website, Talal said: “The association has completed preparations for the Dubai training camp, which will entail playing friendly matches led by Belgian coach, Vital Borkelmas, who is depending heavily on the final preparatory stage before leaving for Kuwait.”

Jordan’s team is set to leave for Kuwait on June 1, where they will face Nepal, Kuwait and Australia on June 7, June 11 and June 15, respectively as part of Group B.

Earlier this year, the national team played five friendlies. The squad tied with Dynamo Kiev (0-0), won against Tajikistan (2-0) then suffered three consecutive losses against Tajikistan (1-0), the Russian Zenit Saint Petersburg (1-0) and Uzbekistan (2-1).

In a second camp, the first half of which took place in Dubai, Jordan tied with Oman (1-1) and beat Lebanon (1-0). During the second half, held in Manama, the team played a single friendly, beating Bahrain (2-1).

Australia is now leading Group B (12pts.) followed by Jordan and Kuwait in second place (10pts.), Nepal in fourth place (3pts.) and China in last (0pts.).
