MILAN — Inter Milan have reached an agreement with Liverpool to sign midfielder Curtis Jones for €35 million (£30 million).

The Italian club will pay €30 million guaranteed for the 25-year-old midfielder, alongside a potential €5 million in performance-related add-ons. Jones has been granted permission to travel to Italy to undergo a medical.اضافة اعلان

Negotiations between the two clubs were finalized late Wednesday evening after Inter opened a new round of talks earlier in the day. Liverpool have also secured a 10 percent sell-on clause for the academy graduate, who has entered the final year of his contract with the Reds.

The agreement comes after The Athletic reported on Wednesday that Inter were closing in on a deal for Jones.

Liverpool had previously rejected an offer worth around €25 million from Inter in June, with the English club holding out for a fee closer to €40 million. The Italian side also attempted to sign Jones last January on loan with an option to buy, but that bid was unsuccessful.

Jones has made 228 first-team appearances for Liverpool since making his debut under Jürgen Klopp in 2019. He featured in 49 matches across all competitions during the 2025–2026 season, but started in only 28 of them. The midfielder grew frustrated over his inability to secure a regular starting spot in the midfield, eventually finishing the season filling in at right-back.

While new Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola had expressed his desire to keep Jones at the club upon taking charge, the lack of progress on a contract extension—coupled with the player's desire for a new challenge at Inter—led Liverpool to authorize his departure.
