The gross domestic product (GDP) of the wholesale and retail trade sector reached 818 million JOD during the first quarter of the current year.
The first-half progress report of the Executive Program for the Economic Modernization Vision 2026–2029 highlighted advancements across several indicators and projects during the first half of this year, with the market regulation quality index reaching 95.2% by the end of the first half.

The report noted that key achievements in the sector included building an integrated e-commerce ecosystem, alongside preparing the recommendations and gap assessment report for the National E-Commerce Strategy 2026–2029.
As part of these achievements, a workshop was held to discuss the findings of the gap assessment, define priorities for the upcoming stage, and draft the final e-commerce strategy.
The sector also launched the "Click Business" e-commerce and digital marketing support program, and signed agreements to support 18 projects in the fields of e-commerce and digital marketing.
These efforts align with the targets of the Economic Modernization Vision to develop the commercial sector, foster digital transformation, and support businesses operating in e-commerce and digital marketing.
