Insurance premiums paid by citizens during the first two months of the current year increased by 16.5%, while the value of compensations paid by companies rose by 4.6% compared to the same period last year, according to data from the Central Bank of Jordan.

The total value of premiums during this period reached approximately JOD 223.2 million, compared to JOD 191.5 million last year. Meanwhile, compensations amounted to JOD 96.8 million, compared to JOD 92.5 million in 2025, according to data monitored by Al Mamlaka.
Motor insurance accounted for the largest share of premiums paid in January and February of this year, totaling JOD 187.6 million, up from JOD 143.1 million during the same period last year.
Health insurance ranked second, reaching JOD 107.4 million, compared to JOD 89.9 million in the first two months of 2025.
In terms of compensations, motor insurance claims amounted to approximately JOD 45.4 million and health insurance to JOD 38.2 million for the current year. In 2025, these figures stood at about JOD 46.6 million for motor insurance and JOD 34.4 million for health insurance.
