Intaj announces tech, entrepreneurship agenda at Expo 2020 Dubai

AMMAN — The Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (Intaj)announced Tuesday the agenda of Jordan Innovation, Tech and Entrepreneurship in Dubai (JOITED), in partnership with the ministries of Investment and Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and the Jordan Business Council in Dubai, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.اضافة اعلان

The event, scheduled for 21–25 of February, aims to promote Jordan as a regional digital and innovation hub and enable Jordanian companies to meet and communicate with major international companies and investment funds, eventually seeking to create opportunities for growth and expansion, according to a statement.

Intaj indicated that the opening remarks will be delivered by Zaher Qatarneh, Secretary General of the Ministry of Investment and Commissioner General of the Jordanian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.

The forum will include several sessions, the first of which is titled “Why Jordan Is a Digital and Innovation Hub?” In this session, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmad Hanandeh will be attending as a speaker, along with the Minister of Investment Khairy Amr and Chairman of Intaj Amjad Suwais.

According to the statement, the second session discusses the government’s efforts towards Artificial Intelligence transformation and smart cities, followed by the third session, which will tackle fintech in Jordan, while highlighting some Jordanian success stories and case studies.

In the fourth session, panelists will discuss how successful Jordanian companies have been in driving digital transformation in public and private sectors based on Jordanian success stories and case studies related to EnterpriseTech and digital transformation locally, regionally and globally.

The fifth session will tackle Jordan’s keeping up with emerging technologies, while the sixth session will highlight Jordanian talents and the possibility of Jordan becoming an ITO/BPO International Hub.

Also during the forum, Philip Bahoshy, Founder and CEO of MAGNiTT, will present and discuss “Jordanian Startups Success in Numbers”.

The closing session will highlight and promote Jordanian startups with the aim of providing investors and potential partners with a clear idea about the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Jordan and showcasing some success stories.

In the four days following the forum, an expo for Tech companies and startups will be held at the Jordanian pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, where many clients, investors, and potential partners will meet with a number of Jordanian companies.
