Saudi Arabia Appoints Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan as Grand Mufti and Head of Council of Senior Scholars

The King of Saudi Arabia, Salman bin Abdulaziz, issued an order appointing Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan as the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, President of the Council of Senior Scholars, and General President of the General Presidency for Scholarly Research and Ifta, with ministerial rank. Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan is the fourth Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia. He has been a member of the Council of Senior Scholars and the Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta with the highest rank since 1992. He is also a member of the Islamic Fiqh Academy in Mecca under the Muslim World League and among the scholars supervising graduate theses for Saudi university students.
