The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip said Thursday that Israeli authorities continue to keep the Rafah border crossing closed to the evacuation of eligible patients and wounded people whose names are included on approved travel lists.اضافة اعلان

The ministry said the continued closure is preventing dozens of critical cases from leaving during the three days allocated each week for the coordination of patient and wounded evacuations, disrupting approved medical evacuation schedules.

It added that the Israeli measures are worsening the suffering of patients and wounded people who have waited for weeks to obtain the necessary security and medical approvals and coordination.

The ministry warned that repeated delays threaten the lives of patients suffering from serious illnesses and conditions, including cancer, kidney failure and severe injuries. It said each additional day of delay negatively affects their response to treatment and their chances of recovery.

The ministry also said the continued closure is placing further strain on already deteriorating local hospitals and creating significant challenges for medical teams treating patients who require specialized care outside the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health called on United Nations institutions and human rights organizations to urgently pressure for the sustainable reopening of the crossing and to facilitate the departure of emergency cases without obstacles or delays.
