Over 2,000 Martyred in Israeli Airstrikes on Lebanon Since Start of War

The death toll from Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon since the outbreak of war with Hezbollah on March 2 has surpassed 2,000 martyrs, according to the Ministry of Health on Saturday.

In a statement, the ministry said the number of martyrs had risen to 2,020 as of April 11, including 85 paramedics and healthcare workers, as well as 165 children. It added that the number of injured has reached 6,436.

The ministry had earlier reported that an Israeli airstrike on a town in southern Lebanon on Saturday resulted in the martyrdom of eight people and the injury of others, some of them in critical condition.

The statement noted that “Israeli enemy airstrikes on the town of Tuffahata in the Sidon district led, according to a preliminary toll, to eight martyrs and nine injured, including five in critical condition.”
