According to the Office’s official website, OCHA said on Thursday that food security partners have reached more than 860,000 people so far this month through the distribution of food parcels at 50 distribution points across the Gaza Strip. The United Nations also continues to provide around 1.6 million hot meals daily to those in need.

The UN office noted that partners vaccinated 3,000 children during the first two days of a 10-day vaccination campaign, which aims to enhance protection for children under the age of three against preventable diseases.

According to OCHA, partners working in the water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) sector warned that approximately 70 percent of total water production in Gaza City is currently disrupted due to challenges related to repairing the Mekorot water supply line.

The United Nations reiterated the need to expand access, including to vital materials classified as “dual-use”, without which no improvements can be made to essential services such as access to safe drinking water.
