The ministry stated that these figures cover casualties from the October 7 attack, the Gaza war, Lebanon, and the occupied West Bank.

The Jerusalem Post reported slightly different figures, citing 1,152 Israeli soldiers killed since October 7. More than 40% of the deceased were under 21 years old, while over 141 were above the age of 40.

Most of the casualties were reservists, officials, soldiers who extended their service, or those serving beyond the mandatory age.

In the same context, Channel 12 cited the Israeli Insurance Authority, reporting that approximately 80,000 Israelis were classified as “injured due to hostile actions,” and around 30,000 suffered from psychological disorders since October 7.

The Palestinian resistance launched Operation “Al-Aqsa Flood” at dawn on Saturday, October 7, 2023, involving land, sea, and air attacks, along with infiltrations into several Israeli settlements near Gaza. The operation was carried out in response to Israeli violations at Al-Aqsa Mosque, other Islamic holy sites in Jerusalem, and ongoing settlement crimes.
