According to Al-Mamlaka TV, Colonna stated, "The situation in the West Bank raises our concern, especially due to the extremely numerous cases of violence committed by extremist settlers."

In recent weeks, France has opened the door for discussions among European Union members regarding possible sanctions by the Union against Israeli settlers who target Palestinians in the West Bank. However, there has not been a consensus on the matter so far.

On Monday, the foreign ministers of the European Union are discussing possible next steps in response to the crisis in the Middle East, including a campaign against the financial resources of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and a travel ban on Israeli settlers responsible for acts of violence in the occupied West Bank.
