A 4.0-magnitude earthquake struck the Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia early Wednesday morning. The tremor was recorded by stations of the National Seismic Monitoring Network of the Saudi Geological Survey at 01:11:23 a.m. local time.

According to the authority, the earthquake occurred approximately 9 kilometers east of Haradh, with a magnitude of 4.0 on the Richter scale.
This comes as the National Center for Meteorology has issued weather alerts over the past hours covering nine administrative regions across the Kingdom, forecasting light to moderate rainfall, snowfall, active winds, thunderstorms, and reduced horizontal visibility, starting from the early hours of Wednesday through the evening.
The Eastern Province is also expected to experience rainfall, active winds, and thunderstorms that may affect visibility.
