In a statement, the Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem reported that groups of ultra-Orthodox settlers entered the mosque compound from the Mughrabi Gate, where they carried out provocative tours and performed Talmudic rituals — including the controversial "epic prostration" ritual — under heavy police protection.

Simultaneously, Israeli forces imposed strict restrictions on the entry of Muslim worshippers to Al-Aqsa, tightening their military procedures at its gates and throughout the Old City of the occupied holy city.
