In a joint statement, the two organizations said that the findings of a Rapid Damage Assessment conducted between October 2025 and April 2026 showed that “the total direct damage to buildings in southern Lebanon is estimated at nearly US$1.38 billion.”

The assessment also found that 11,095 buildings were completely destroyed, affecting 17,891 housing units across the region.

The report provides one of the first comprehensive estimates of the physical destruction caused by the conflict and highlights the significant reconstruction challenges facing communities in southern Lebanon.
