The developers of Telegram announced that the latest version of the app for Android and iOS now includes the “Passkeys” feature, which makes using the app easier while providing better data protection.اضافة اعلان

A passkey is created through dedicated password manager apps, stored directly on the device, and allows fast and secure login without the verification codes previously sent via SMS. It can also be used to log in with a short password set by the user, in addition to fingerprint or facial recognition.

To use this new feature, users should follow these steps:

Open the Telegram app and go to Settings.

Select the Privacy section, then go to Passkey.

Tap Create Passkey and choose Add Login Key.

Passkeys can be created using built-in password managers from Google and Apple, as well as other options like 1Password.

Passkeys can also be easily deleted. For example, on iPhones, this is done by swiping the created passkey to the left and tapping Delete.

Telegram began expanding its authentication methods after media reports in late October indicated that Russia started restricting the sending of login codes via SMS. For example, the app also added the option to link an email to the account to receive login codes, a feature previously available to a limited number of users.
