Jordan's karate team is preparing for its ninth appearance in the history of the Asian Games, taking part in the 20th edition of the tournament, hosted by the Japanese city of Nagoya from September 19 to October 4.

The national team will be represented at the upcoming Asian Games by six players: Abdullah Hammad, Abdulrahman Al-Masatfa, Mohammad Al-Jaafari, Joud Al-Dhroos, Nourallah Nasser, and Yara Nasser, under the leadership of head coach Mohammad Fatayan and coach Hussein Rohani.
The national team has stepped up its preparations for the Nagoya Asian Games through intensive training sessions, aiming to reach the highest levels of technical and physical readiness before competitions begin.
Head coach Mohammad Fatayan affirmed that morale is high within the team's ranks, noting that the players are aware of the scale of responsibility resting on their shoulders in this major continental event.
Fatayan said: "Jordanian karate always rises to the occasion in major events, and the Asian Games represent an important milestone for us. Morale is high, and everyone is working hard during this period. We look forward to delivering outstanding performances and achieving further accomplishments for karate and Jordanian sport."
The national team hopes to continue its strong showing across various competitions and confirm its notable presence at the Asian Games, having previously won 14 medals throughout its history at the tournament — one gold, four silver, and nine bronze medals.
In the previous edition, hosted by the Chinese city of Hangzhou, the national team succeeded in winning 5 medals: two silvers through Abdulrahman Al-Masatfa and Hassan Masarwa, and three bronzes through Mohammad Al-Jaafari, Abdullah Hammad, and Joud Al-Dhroos.
Standing out among the national team's ranks is player Abdulrahman Al-Masatfa, considered the most decorated Jordanian karate athlete in the history of the Asian Games, with a tally of 3 medals — two silvers in the 2014 and 2022 editions, and a bronze in the 2018 edition.
Karate competitions at the Nagoya Asian Games will be held from September 20 to 23 at the Toyohashi Sports Hall.
