The Cairo Criminal Court, convening in the Fifth Settlement, is set to issue its ruling on Saturday in the case involving producer Sarah Khalifa, who is accused of filming and sexually assaulting a young man inside her residence.

New Charges Against Sarah Khalifa
The Cairo Criminal Court had previously referred Sarah Khalifa’s papers to the Grand Mufti in a separate case involving the manufacture and trafficking of narcotic substances.
Khalifa also faces a separate charge of drug use, which carries a prison sentence of up to three years under Egyptian law.
Public Prosecution Charges
The Public Prosecution referred 28 defendants, including Sarah Khalifa Hamada, to the Criminal Court over allegations of forming an organized criminal gang involved in importing materials used to manufacture synthetic narcotics for the purpose of trafficking them.
The defendants also face charges related to the possession and carrying of firearms and ammunition without the required licenses.
More Than 750 Kilograms of Synthetic Drugs Seized
Investigations found that the defendants had formed a criminal organization, led by some of them, to manufacture synthetic narcotics for trafficking. The group allegedly imported the materials needed for production from abroad and divided responsibilities among its members.
Some defendants were responsible for procuring the raw materials, others for manufacturing the drugs, while others handled their distribution. The group allegedly used a residential property to store the materials and manufacture the drugs.
Authorities seized more than 750 kilograms of synthetic narcotics and raw materials used in their production.
Following the findings of the investigation, the Public Prosecution issued several urgent decisions, including reviewing the defendants’ assets, lifting banking secrecy, freezing their funds, placing two fugitives on travel-ban and watch lists, and extending the detention of the remaining defendants.
The referral was based on statements from 20 witnesses, as well as technical and digital evidence, including messages, photographs and video recordings documenting the defendants’ alleged criminal activities.
