The committee overseeing the electoral process for the Jordanian Fine Artists Association announced the results of the vote count for candidates elected to the administrative body, after the counting process concluded Tuesday evening, September 1, 2026, at the association's headquarters in Al-Rashid neighborhood, Amman.

The "Growth and Change" bloc won all seats on the administrative body, with artist and critic Ghazi Anaim winning the presidency. The other seats on the association's administrative body went to Mohammad Al-Khatib, Ali Sobhi, Ahmad Al-Nashash, Damris Azar, Anwar Haddadin, and Yasmine Al-Sahouri, with Tareq Abdel Hadi as an alternate.
According to the association's regulations, the new administrative body will distribute administrative positions at its first meeting.
Ghazi Anaim, candidate of the "Growth and Change" bloc, said they look forward to a strong association backed by its general assembly, one that isn't reduced to individuals, but remains a broad space for creativity. He added that their election campaign wasn't merely a campaign, but a restoration of the role of an institution that has proven its presence and brought artists together under one umbrella.
He added that they're betting on this term marking the beginning of a phase in which the association reclaims its role as a unifying artistic space, one that moves beyond factionalism and becomes more capable of protecting diversity and creativity, making art an active force in defending identity and artists' rights.
Regarding the association's vision for the coming phase, Anaim said the association's vision is built on expanding the circle of participation and opening the door to talents that have remained distant from the scene, as well as attracting young talent and anyone with a renewed creative spirit. He said they also look forward to the association reclaiming its natural position within the Arab and international fine arts scene, through openness to artistic trends, encouraging research and experimentation, developing training and qualification programs, activating exhibitions, forums, and workshops, and building bridges of cooperation with artistic and cultural institutions inside and outside Jordan.
He concluded by saying the association's strength lies in building bridges of dialogue and cooperation with all colleagues, away from narrow calculations that don't serve its goals. Believing that differences in vision are a source of strength and enrichment for artistic work, he said they will work hard to make the association a space that accommodates everyone, turning difference into a means of complementarity rather than a cause for division, while placing artistic, cultural, and national interest above all other considerations.
