Hotel establishments in the city of Aqaba recorded high booking rates, with an overall average of around 93%, driven by entertainment activity and the diversity of the tourism offering the city provides.

Dr. Thabet Al-Nabulsi, Commissioner for Tourism and Youth at the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, said that five-star hotels recorded the highest booking rate at 97%, while three-star hotels reached 95%, and four-star hotels reached 93%.
Al-Nabulsi affirmed that these figures reflect strong demand for Aqaba as a comprehensive tourist destination, combining coastal, entertainment, and family tourism, alongside events and musical concerts that have helped attract visitors and boost tourism activity.
He added that the diversity of Aqaba's tourism offering, along with the hotel establishments and accommodation options the city provides to suit different segments of visitors, has helped raise demand and booking rates, and strengthened the city's competitiveness on the local and regional tourism map, noting that tourism activity has positively reflected on commercial activity in Aqaba's markets, particularly in the restaurant, café, transport, retail, and services sectors.
Al-Nabulsi affirmed that the rise in visitor numbers helps broaden the circle of economic benefit to include the various establishments and sectors operating in the city.
He explained that the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority continues to work, in cooperation with partners in the public and private sectors, to support tourism and entertainment events and develop the visitor experience, ensuring the sustainability of tourism activity and maximizing its economic and commercial impact on the city.
