He added that heritage is an integral part of national identity and a bridge connecting generations with their past and history.

He noted that heritage festivals help showcase cultural traditions, introduce traditional products and strengthen the values of belonging and citizenship. Such events also support the presence of culture in society and help preserve the continuity of national heritage and pass it on to future generations.

For her part, Khalfa Al-Rawashdeh, head of the Ma’in Heritage Forum, said the Ma’in area is rich in history and national heritage linked to important stages in the establishment and development of the Jordanian state. She stressed the importance of documenting and highlighting this legacy for future generations to strengthen awareness of national history and preserve collective memory.

She added that the forum seeks to broaden interest in Jordan’s historical narrative and document national heritage, in line with efforts to deepen younger generations’ awareness of Jordan’s history, heritage and cultural components.
The festival featured a varied cultural and artistic program, including performances on the rababa, artistic shows, a theatrical performance by female students from Ma’in School, musical performances by the Latin Scouts band, and a poetry evening featuring several poets.
